Question 1: in what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Masthead
At the start of the project I researched a number of already existing and professional made magazines to give me an idea of where to start from. I also analysed how the products were presented and how conventions were used in order to attract the targeted audiences.  I followed and imitated the codes of conventions used in a real magazine so that my magazine I will obtain the appearance of a real magazine, which is the ‘Professional’ image.  I have come to know that the most popular convention that existing magazines have is having a large and unique masthead and also a large image of the character/model so I applied it when producing my magazine.  Dafont.com is a website where I generated my font from. I downloaded a unique yet a sans serif font so that it will stand out from others and will also proceed in catching the attention of my targeted audience. A sans serif font was used because it gave my magazine a touch of contemporary look as other existing magazines have. The only convention I didn’t use was placing my model behind the mast head because I was certain on producing a fresh distinctive magazine.
